About Traffic
For more than six years, Traffic magazine was a key regional publication covering fashion, lifestyle, and culture, producing 29 specialized issues.
As a graphic designer at Traffic Communications, I collaborated on seven publications, including the inaugural anniversary edition, providing graphic design, illustration, and photography. Under the guidance of art director Juan José Durán and editorial director Marjorie Espinal, I contributed to Traffic, Welcome, Ved (Living Design), and additional related projects.
Concept
Traffic magazine’s aesthetic is characterized by the use of high-quality photographs, fashion illustrations with loose and feminine strokes, as well as a clean layout with visual emphasis on serif fonts in headlines and Helvetica in the body text. This edition was no exception; what could be mentioned as a different factor from the other editions is that this one was contextualized in France. If you look closely, most of the main editorial photographs are in black and white and maintain high contrast, which allows the reader to feel part of the Parisian, romantic, and modern air that was the setting for the first-year celebration.
Each article was laid out under that same guiding principle, under a concept of minimalism and sophistication that gradually became part of the essence of every edition.
